The purpose of this module is to explore the theoretical, philosophical and practical aspects of research in the field of early childhood. Students will develop an advanced understanding of key concepts in research within early childhood. They will develop an understanding of the ethical issues in conducting research within early childhood contexts including with children. They will search for, select and critique past research studies applying advanced knowledge of ethics and research design. Students will identify and prepare a research focus and viable research topic in the field of early childhood leadership and practice. Student will apply theoretical perspectives on research and on early childhood to establish their own position as an early childhood researcher.
